It’s the last weekend before Christmas. (!!!) Big Guy is done traveling until 2017. (!!!) We only have ONE commitment this weekend. (!!!)
All the !!!!!!!! today. I cannot tell you how pumped I have for a weekend at home. We have supper club tonight and the rest of the weekend is going to be spent enjoying our beautiful Christmas tree, burning our Christmas candles, baking Christmas cookies and watching Christmas movies. I have all intentions of making this weekend the most stress-free, relaxing weekend possible this time of the year.
I hope you all have a fabulous weekend – whether you’re attending Christmas parties or finishing up your Christmas shopping, don’t rush through your days. Enjoy every moment – even if the calm ones are few and far between.
Favorite Magical: Candy Cane Crunch Cake. This is the cake of my dreams.
Favorite Want: Driving Loafers. Last weekend I spotted a lady (or girl…I don’t know what to call us 30-something people any more) wearing driving loafers with cuffed skinny jeans. It looked so effortlessly put together and I immediately began hunting for a pair.
Favorite Wake-Up: Coconut Cinnamon Buns. Oh.em.gee. These would be so perfect for a lazy morning. Coffee. The Christmas tree. And a big bite of this deliciousness.
Favorite Lunch: Creamy Chicken Salad Dip with Walnuts and Dates. I like to keep my mid-day meal light and healthy so that I can indulge a little come dinner time.
Favorite Print: 2017 Cheese Wall Calendar. This Etsy shop has the most amazing calendars! There are a variety of calendar formats and she has lots of beautiful prints, including North Carolina, bread, and sushi.
Favorite Cozy: Crispy Prosciutto Cheesy White Lasagna. Oh, you cheesy layers of cheese and noodles. Swoon.
Favorite Brunch: Espresso Rubbed Sliders with Vanilla Bacon. This is another reason I like light lunches. And let’s also be clear, I’d totally eat these for lunch, if given the opportunity. Or as an appetizer. Or while watching football.
Favorite List: 13 Books You Absolutely Have to Read Before They Become Movies in 2017. I think I need to put together a list of 12 books I want to read in 2017. “Wonder” and “The Circle” might be included on said list.
Favorite Holiday Dinner: Roasted Beef Tenderloin with Mushrooms and White Wine Sauce. Easy, yet impressive. And if you happen to have someone who wants their beef “well”, well, the end pieces are all theirs.
Favorite Sparkle and Shine: Pear Sangria. It’s the most wonderful time of the year!
