If we were having coffee this morning…We’d meet up at Caffe Driade in Chapel Hill.  I found this coffee shop on a list of “America’s Best Coffee Bars” and now it’s on my list of places to visit.

If we were having coffee this morning…I’d tell you about the restaurant I went to last Friday with my parents for lunch.  Whenever I go to Charlotte to visit my family I make grand plans to visit somewhere new.  It doesn’t always happen but last weekend we were able to try Napa on Providence.  I loved reading their wine list and seeing wineries that Big Guy and I visited earlier this year when we were in Sonoma.  I started with a glass of a 2013 Pinot Noir from Sonoma that NoP keeps on tap.  I typically order a white wine or Prosecco if I’m out to lunch but I just couldn’t resist a red.  So good.  My Momma and I shared a bowl of the seasonal gazpacho which was a cold soup made with pineapple and bell pepper.  Incredibly refreshing.  And for my lunch, a Smoked Salmon Cobb Salad.  The dressing was one of the best dressings I’ve ever had.  And I eat a lot of salads.

If we were having coffee this morning…I might show you a picture of the new pillows I got for the living room.  We’ve been talking about accent pillows since the couch was delivered and we just haven’t fallen in love with anything yet.  Until I saw the zebras in Charlotte while doing a little shopping with my parents.  I snapped a pic and sent it to Big Guy and after his approval, I was walking out the door with these beauties.  (pillows from Bedside Manor located near South Park in Charlotte)

If we were having coffee this morning…I would apologize for not sharing more recipes this week.  Big Guy has been in Costa Rica all week so it’s been easy to let excuses keep me from cooking.  The recipe finally happened last night (that was supposed to happen Monday and then Tuesday) and it wasn’t worth the hour that it took to prepare.  Just being honest.  Since I haven’t been cooking much, I’ve been making snack plates for dinner.  But I won’t complain.  I love cheese + crackers + hummus + veggies.

If we were having coffee this morning…I would recommend you try this Spicy Yellow Lentil hummus.  It’s a little spicy and a lot of delicious.  I’ve been enjoying it all week long.

If we were having coffee this morning…I would bring you some chips to try.  Random, I know.  I found them at Sam’s Club but I can’t find much about them online.  They’re good!  Crunchy and light.

If we were having coffee this morning…I would tell you that I have two beach weekends planned this month and I can’t contain my excitement.  I haven’t been to the beach since Memorial Day and that is very out of character for me.

If we were having coffee this morning…I would recommend this bottle of red wine.  This bottle was included in a 6-pack sampler we bought at The Raleigh Wine Shop last month.  This bottle is about $20 and I highly suggest you find a bottle to try if you’re into red wine.  I plan on buying another bottle or two.

 Carlania Celler “El Petit Carlania” 2013 offers a light-bodied look and feel. It is lively and fresh, with ripe red plum aromas and winsome blue floral and herbal notes; a sip communicates cherry, appetizing bitterness, and tannins with a slight chew. {source}

If we were having coffee this morning…I would give you one more product recommendation (promise!).  I eat Greek yogurt 4 out of 7 mornings (very scientific guesstimate there) each week in some way.  I usually eat plain 0% Greek Yogurt (Fage is my favorite) but I found this coffee flavor of Chobani and I couldn’t resist.  I enjoyed this cup of yogurt for lunch earlier in the week and it tasted JUST like coffee (which I enjoyed).

If we were having coffee this morning…We’d take a trip down memory lane.  Last weekend I played with my old Barbies with my niece.  I can’t believe it’s been over 20 years since I played with them and they’re still as fashionable as always.  (Though I really tried to talk Haines out of that green/red dress – but she was determined that “Stacy” need to wear that dress.)

If we were having coffee this morning…I would leave you with a hug and this:
