Wedding Wednesday, tie update.

So my wedding colors might have changed a bit.  And that’s okay.  I’m just going with the flow over here in wedding land.  This past weekend, we pulled out the computer and got input from a few of the men in my life (my Dad and brothers) on what they thought about the tie situation.

On Saturday, we ordered two ties.  A tie for Big Guy and a tie for the groomsmen.  They should be here today.  I’m praying I jump up and down for joy when I see them.

I’m crossing my fingers that this is a match with the swatch I have for the bridesmaids dresses.

And instead of aqua, a green will now be my accent color.  Hopefully.

And this is why I picked out the ties before I was dead set on any accent colors, friends.

Wedding Wednesday, Tie Talk.

Picking the ties for the groomsmen is proving to be more difficult than I expected.  So I need your advice.

First things first, here’s my vision of the bridesmaids dresses:

I really love aqua or turquoise paired with this coral color.  Think:

Understand what I’m going for?

Well, my vision proceeds to have Big Guy in a coral colored bow tie.  And then have all the groomsmen in a tie that coordinates with the accent color of aqua or turquoise.  We’re not having much luck.

Vineyard Vines has a tie color called “raspberry” that is as close to coral as we’re going to get without looking like cheap satin (no, no, no, no….).

Big Guy actually owns that exact print in a bow tie.  He could wear that and get the groomsmen the above tie.  They’d match, which wouldn’t be my vision, but they’d coordinate.

Or we could get this bow tie – which claims to be raspberry like the crab tie – for Big Guy.   But they don’t have a coordinating tie for the groomsmen.  All they have is green.

Or navy.

But it’s not coral.  And it’s not aqua, either.

So what do I do, what do we do?

I need YOUR advice.

Wedding Wednesday, let’s talk suits.

We’re torn.  For the groomsmen:  all khaki suits or khaki slacks with navy blazer?  The shirt color won’t be decided until that decision is made.  And we’re thinking coral ties (obviously a bow tie for Big Guy).  As for shoes, brown loafers.  Big Guy won’t be wearing socks…obviously he’s going to be there for a party (what wedding?).  I can’t speak for the other guys.  So take a gander at these photos found on Pinterest and weigh in so that we can make this decision.

OR

It’s an outside wedding, at the end of April.  But I don’t want “fussy.”  I want the wedding party (boys and girls) to be comfy.  And while I don’t want it to be fussy, I do want it to be classy.  Keep in mind, my maids will (tentatively) be wearing coral with gold or nude wedges.

So, what do you think?  All khaki/tan or khaki/tan slacks with a navy blazer?  I need your help, Groomzilla needs your help…
