There hasn’t been a lot of cooking going on in the kitchen since Friday – we were gone last Saturday and Sunday and Big Guy’s been in Omaha all week. (Every time I hear Omaha, I think steak.) But instead of leaving you wondering what I’m up to (besides mac ‘n cheese), I’ll leave you with a couple of pics Big Guy is bullying me into sharing with you.
That is a juicy peach from our little peach tree. I had the pleasure of eating one this season and it was the sweetest peach I’ve ever tasted. Homegrown produce is ten times better than store bought. Big Guy must have stolen the above peach and ran to work with it before I could protest. Sneaky, sneaky. I pray that the peach tree produces so much more next season.
Moving on, I forgot to talk about the dinner that followed the blueberry and cheese appetizer. Speaking of that appetizer, it was epic.

That’s the picture I took with instagram. Simple salmon (steak for Big Guy) with a warm salad filled with homegrown tomatoes and corn. Except I added my twist to it with chopped romaine. And instead of the “frying” pepper – I used a homegrown banana pepper.
I know, lame post. But hey, at least I realize it. I promise to be back in full force next week.
And two more pics from Big Guy…Piggy and Beefy (his words, not mine). He slaved over these tasty eats two weekends ago when he cooked for a tournament down in Hatteras. This week he’s craving BBQ.
