Creamy Stove-Top Mac ‘n Cheese

Posted on

But it’s not from a blue box!

In fact, I bet you can pronounce every ingredient in this creamy, comforting dish.  The addition of garlic, mustard and Worcestershire sauce adds lots of flavor to the cream cheese and sharp cheddar.  I used white cheddar – but use whatever you have on hand.  I also used cornstarch instead of flour and brown rice noddles instead of whole wheat to make it gluten-free.

I adore mac ‘n cheese.  It was most certainly my favorite meal growing up (right up there with beef tips and rice) and this recipe, despite being lighter, didn’t cut any corners when it comes to flavor.

I served the comforting mac ‘n cheese alongside roasted broccoli.

And yes, the place mat is still there…and it’s especially fitting for this meal!
