This is for your sweet tooth.

Posted on

I have two desserts to share with you.  One revolves around sweet strawberries and the other combine peanut butter and chocolate in a blondie.  I hope you’re ready because this is for your sweet tooth.

Last weekend one of my friends and her husband came over for burgers and good times.  But you know I can’t entertain without dessert.  Knowing he wasn’t a chocolate man, I went for a fruit-based dessert.  As I was browsing recipes, racking my mind for what I wanted to make, I sent Big Guy a text asking for inspiration.  I think he read my mind.  Because the minute I pulled up the recipe for Strawberry Crostata, he sent me a text requesting strawberry pie.  I’m just good like that.  It’s s super-simple recipe if you use a pre-made pie dough (which I did).  Slice up your strawbs and sprinkle with sugar.  In another bowl, combine the cream cheese (make sure it’s softened), flour, sugar and vanilla.  Roll out the dough and then spread with the cream cheese mixture leaving a border.  Fold up the crust and crimp.

Then bake and let it cool.

Big Guy was a fan.  Dessert, and maybe even breakfast, approved.

Are you sure you can handle more?  Peanut Butter Cup Blondies.  This was made out of sheer boredom on Sunday.  And because I know that the men at Big Guy’s work love when I send treats on Monday.  But seriously, is there a better combo other than PB and chocolate?  (well, except for almonds and chocolate and sea salt…)

I didn’t have any PB cups on hand, so I used peanut butter morsels and I used milk chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet chips.  And I drink coffee with skim milk so that’s what I used instead of 2%.

Best served warm.

Have a sweet, sweet day, friends!
